Brandon Hua

Research Associate II

Brandon is a front-end UI/UX developer for the One Water Solutions Institute at Colorado State University (CSU). Joining the team October 2021, Brandon started working at OWSI to help design the user interface (UI) for various online webtools and dashboards. Since then, he has transitioned to a full-stack developer, taking leadership over several dashboards hosted by OWSI such as but not limited to the Water Rapid Assessment Program (WRAP), Salinity Information Management System (SIMS), as well as various urban planning tools (Polaris and CLASIC).

Brandon leverages the flexibility of programming to integrate numerous APIs hosted by various government entities into his dashboards. The data returned is processed to be easy and efficient for stakeholders.

Interests

Brandon has many hobbies outside of software development such as cosplay, 3D printing, and gaming. Outside of work, he loves to build and create things from cosplay props to furniture from reclaimed wood. When he’s not doing that, he can most likely be found socializing with his friends either in person or online.

In working for OWSI for three years, Brandon has found a workplace to call home. With the fast-paced environment, there is no lack of work to do and there is always something to learn. Brandon also loves the helpful community that OWSI provides. In learning, it is impossible to know everything, yet his coworkers at OWSI always find time to lend a helping hand when the need arises.
