Mikka is a certified Full-Stack Software Engineer with a passion for problem-solving and improving the world around her.  Contributing to the mission of  CSU’s One Water Solutions Institute (OWSI) has allowed her to do both simultaneously. Working alongside the OWSI team, Mikka is using her passion for problem–solving to create and improve algorithms through code to help bring to life the software applications that address real-world water challenges. As a CSU graduate, Mikka is honored to be working with such great colleagues at her alma mater addressing real-life challenges one line of code at a time.

Research Interests

As a full-stack developer, Mikka has a lot of experience and knowledge in many different programming languages, libraries, and tools – but there is so much still left to explore, and she’s always eager to pursue new opportunities. 

When Mikka is not busy programming she is hanging with her husband and they can be found chilling with her immediate family (and 5 nieces/nephews), country line dancing, paddleboarding, reading, watching movies at the theatre and binge-watching TV. They both absolutely love animals and doting on them like they are furry kiddos – doing things like creating a catio and cat shelves for their kitty Jersey, and eagerly awaiting getting a home with a backyard so they can get 2 dogs (Lambeau and Hank).
